Witches In Bikinis
BIO
• In the ‘80s, Bill Rozar wrote songs inspired by the Wizard of Oz, Jonathan Richman, Halloween, witches and horror movies
• These songs sat ensconced in a cassette tape until 2004 when Bill’s wife, Julie, inspired him to re-record them with Janelle M. Lannan.
• A performance group formed in March 2005 in Brooklyn, New York for a performance of “Witches In Bikinis” with one singer and two witch back-ups at The Slipper Room in the Manhattan’s Lower East Side for a fundraiser
• Choreographer Amir Levi and some members of his dance group, “The Poisonous Ladies”, soon joined.
• First CD released in October 2005
• Performances began October 2005
• Choreographer Angie Harriell joined the group in March 2006
• Live musicians replaced pre-recorded CD August 2006
