Haunted Mansion / Lyrics
(Vocals: Janelle Lannan)
(Music and Lyrics by: Bill Rozar)
I don’t wish to frighten you with tales best left untold.
It’s wise to let such horrifying memories grow old.
Things that have happened here
Are too gruesome to share with you.
But ignorant bliss I fear
Won’t save you from what is true.
For it’s a haunted mansion
A haunted mansion
A haunted mansion
Quite an extraordinary spooky place you’ll see.
Have you heard of old man Weaver?
Hacked his lover’s wife up with a cleaver.
Then he hid her body in the cellar
Finally free to frolic with his feller.
But soon thereafter, the story goes,
Her body rose
Up from the dead and came back and
Chopped off Weaver’s head.
For it’s a haunted mansion
A haunted mansion
A haunted mansion
A horrible and terrifying piece of real estate.
With Weaver gone, the house went to his sister
But soon she died they say the devil kissed her
And then for years, the house was always empty
It would not sell, no price I know could tempt me
For there were too many stories told
Of those more bold
Who on a bet would sleep here
But no one’s won it yet
For it’s a haunted mansion
A haunted mansion
A haunted mansion
God-forsaken, devil’s playpen, ghost menagerie.
One godless night, while strolling by the water
I saw, I thought, my other neighbor’s daughter
“Hello,” I said, as I was walking by her
But when she turned her eyes were dripping fire
I could not turn from its evil stare
I said a prayer
And begged the Lord to please take my soul
Right then and there.
For it’s a haunted mansion
A haunted mansion
A haunted mansion
